The utility named Kaspersky Registry Editor is designed for editing the registry of Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.
Kaspersky Registry Editor allows performing the following actions:
· Automatically searching and loading registry hives for all Microsoft Windows operating systems installed on a computer
· Loading additional user-selected registry hives
· Creating, deleting, renaming, and editing keys and values
· Importing and exporting REG files.
To add a new key:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key to which a new one should be added, and right-click it.
2. From the context menu that opens, select New-> Key. The new key appears in the registry tree.
3. Specify the name of the new registry key and press the Enter button.
To add a new value to a registry key:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key to which a new value should be added, and right-click it.
2. From the context menu that opens, select New, and then select a value type. The new value appears in the panel located on the right.
3. Specify the name of the new value and press the Enter button.
To change a value:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key that contains the required value; in the panel located on the right, select the value whose data you want to change.
2. Right-click to open the context menu of the value and select Modify.
3. In the window that opens, type the data for the value and click OK.
To delete a key:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key that you want to delete, and right-click it.
2. From the context menu that opens, select Delete.
To delete a value:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key that contains the required value; in the panel located on the right, select the value that you want to delete.
2. Right-click to open the context menu of the value and select Delete.
To rename a key:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key that you want to rename, and right-click it.
2. From the context menu that opens, select Rename.
3. Specify the new name of the key and press the Enter button.
To rename a value:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the registry key that contains the required setting; in the panel located on the right, select the value that you want to rename.
2. Right-click to open the context menu of the value and select Rename.
3. Specify the new name of the vale and press the Enter button.
To import an REG file:
1. Open the File menu and select Import.
2. In the window that opens, specify the path to the REG file that you want to import, and click Open.
If several operating systems are installed on the computer, you may need to select one or several registry hives to which the REG file should be imported.
To export an REG file:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the hive with the content that you need to export, and right-click it.
2. From the context menu that opens, select Export.
3. In the window that opens, specify the path to the exported file and click Save.
To load a registry hive:
1. In the panel located on the left, select the hive HKEY_CUSTOM_HIVES.
2. Open the File menu and select Load hive.
3. In the window that opens, specify the path to the file with the hive that you want to load, and click Open.
4. In the window that opens, in the Hive name field, specify the name under which the hive should be loaded, and click OK.
